Welcome

At PharmcareUSA, we are deeply grateful for the trust and collaboration you’ve shown us as we work together to improve the lives of the elderly population we serve. Your continued partnership is the cornerstone of our shared mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in long-term care settings.

We want to take a moment to address an important industry matter that may come to your attention. Like many long-term care pharmacies across the country, PharmcareUSA is currently engaged in negotiations with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) regarding medication pricing and contract terms. Unfortunately, these discussions have been challenging, as PBMs have shown reluctance to fully support the unique needs of the long-term care pharmacy space.

You may hear or receive messaging suggesting that PharmcareUSA is not contracted with certain PBMs. We want to assure you that this information is inaccurate and should be disregarded. Our commitment to continuity of care and service remains unwavering, and we are actively working to ensure that our patients and partners experience no disruption.

We share this with you not to cause concern, but to provide clarity and confidence. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your trusted PharmcareUSA pharmacy team. We are here for you.

We kindly ask for your support in advocating for critical reforms to Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) practices. By completing a short form, you can help us push back against policies that threaten the quality of care and services you currently receive. Your participation is vital in helping us preserve the high standard of pharmacy care you depend on.

Thank you again for your continued partnership and for all you do to support the health and dignity of our elderly communities.

Thank you,

Kent Abbott

Long-Term Care Pharmacy Services

PBM Reform Letter

To whom it may concern.

I write to you in regard to recent communications about our Long-Term Care pharmacy provider PharmcareUSA, and the 2026 PBM contract year.

PharmcareUSA has been a comprehensive and trusted partner in the ongoing care of Medicare beneficiaries and OUR residents. They provide specialized pharmacy services including special packaging, 24/7 pharmacist support, daily deliveries, and clinical support that our patients and facilities rely on.

It has come to our attention that an agreement may not been reached for 2026 with many pharmacies including PharmcareUSA. I would remind you that we are required to have long term care pharmacy services to be in compliance with CMS. I must urge you to ensure that PharmcareUSA remains contracted with your organization to meet the needs of our patients and beneficiaries.

I do not need to remind you that dual eligible patients have the right to change plans on a monthly basis. We stand firmly alongside PharmcareUSA and will continue to do so, ensuring they remain our committed pharmacy partner.

CMS Support Letter

To whom it may concern.

It has recently become aware to us that some Pharmacy Benefit Managers (Caremark and Express Scripts) are communicating with our long-term care residents that our current pharmacy provider is not going to be in network for the 2026 Medicare Part D contract year.

They have indicated they have made efforts to negotiate in good faith with the pharmacy network; however, negotiations have hit a wall.

In reaching out to industry colleagues, many nursing home providers have received similar correspondence which begs to ask about the true network adequacy of each PBM.

If residents and facilities in various parts of the country, and therefore serviced by different pharmacies, are receiving similar notices, how could the PBM possibly maintain network adequacy?

I ask that CMS intervene and demand that contract negotiations continue.   To truly safeguard this vulnerable population, we require long-term care pharmacy services to provide the clinical services these residents desperately require.
